Kathi Ellis grew up in Thomasville, Georgia, where her love for singing first appeared at age seven. Teachers quickly noticed her gift, and by twelve she was lifting her voice in the church choir, eventually becoming a praise leader. At sixteen, she sang background for Pastor Caesar—an experience that confirmed her calling in music.

 

Her single “Do You Know Jesus,” produced by William Perry Jr. for Phillias Music Publishing, was written as she reflected on how God carried her through life’s hardest moments. The song is dedicated to the memory of her beloved son, Ahmad L. Mitchell, whose life continues to inspire her ministry.

 

Beyond music, Kathi has served as a special education teacher, achieved the rank of Senior Vice President with Primerica Financial Services, and is pursuing her doctorate at Argosy University San Diego. She is the proud mother of Reverend Tiffany McCall, Reverend Dr. Ishmael Bernard Mitchell, and Gerard Mitchell of Las Vegas.

Her voice, her story, and her faith continue to touch hearts everywhere she sings.
